Guidelines on the articles' arrangement and settings

Aims and Scopes:

The quarterly Journal of Management Strategies in Health System is published with the objective of publicizing and sharing the latest research findings in the field of health management to develop application of management science in health system improvement. Also, this journal tries to upgrade the scientific level of professors, researchers, and students within the health domain through timely dissemination of research achievements. The quarterly journal of Management Strategies in Health System has described its main responsibility to relate the theory and practice in management of health domain.

The Manuscripts Accepted to be published in this Journal Consist of the following items:

A) Original / Research Articles which are the results of the author(s)’ research findings.

B) Review Articles consist of a general study on a scientific subject and the author(s) of such manuscripts should have sufficient scientific experience and be expert in the subject under study. The review article should be composed by applying reliable and recent references, at least 5 of which should have been published as original articles of the author(s).

C) Short Communications that are the results of the author(s)’ research findings.

D) Managerial Case Report which is a case study of a managerial experience/scenario presented as a case study.

E) Letter to Editor

F) Book and Media Review

G) International / National Health Policy / Plans / Programs analysis

H) Ayeh (Verse), Hadith (Imam’s words), Narrative, Poem, and Anecdote

Management Strategies in Health System Journal publishes a free style Ayeh (verse), Hadith (Imam’s words), narrative, poem, or anecdote with a maximum of 236 words  on the first page of every issue. The submitted Ayeh (verse), Hadith (Imam’s words), narrative, poem, or anecdote should be within the professional domain of the journal and presented in an innovative way. Meanwhile, in order to submit such texts, select the “AYEH” icon in the "Type of Paper" section on the journal's website and upload the short text with a maximum of 236 words in the “Abstract” icon.

The quarterly Journal of Management Strategies in Health System accepts and publishes the manuscripts within the following domains:

1) Management of health care organizations

2) Policy-making and analysis of health polices

3) Health economics and economic analysis

4) Resistive economics within the domain of health

5) Management of health resources

6) Planning and organizing within the domain of health

7) Assessment and accreditation of the health care organization

8) Health sector evolution plan (HSEP)

11) Futurology and future publication in health

12) Disease management and assessment of proceedings' results

13) Healthcare marketing

14) Management of health in disasters and emergencies

15) Managerial case report within health domain

16) Book and media review (introduction)

17) Health policies and programs' analysis at the national and international levels

18) Comparative studies within the health domain

Journal of Management Strategies in Health System publishes articles in the above fields whit Persian full text and English abstract.

Legal and ethical standards:

1) The journal avoids accepting the published or under consideration articles in the internal or external journals. The author(s) should assert in their recognizance that the manuscript hasn’t been submitted or accepted for publication elsewhere simultaneously. They also need to confirm that their manuscript will not be submitted to any other journals until the final respond.

  • Publishing the articles presented in conferences as a lecture, poster, or published in the articles' abstracts are permissible, but the conference exact date and specifications should be cited exactly.

2) All authors should be informed about the manuscript's submission and the manuscripts' submission form should include all authors' signatures. 

  • The legal responsibility of not mentioning all authors’ first names or family names goes to the corresponding author.
  • Authors are responsible for the correctness and accuracy of the manuscript content, order of authors’ names according to their cooperation, responding to the providers of the research financial resources if their names are not mentioned in the title page and responding to any legal claims for the author’s copyright or content.
  • The journal has not any responsibilities for disputes between the authors and also the authors’ disputes against other organizations.

3) The journal is free to accept or reject the manuscripts and preserves itself the right of scientific, literal, documentary, and summarization edits of the manuscripts.

4) The responsibility of the correctness and accuracy of the published content and references is towards the author(s) anyway.

5) Authorship requirements: Authors' names should be mentioned according to the defined criteria by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). According to the ICMJE recommendations, authors (or one of them) should have all the following criteria: 1) Have a substantial contribution in at least one of the following activities: a) presenting the research conception or designing the study, b) collecting the data, c) analyzing and interpreting; 2) Have a role in drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual scientific content; 3) Study and approve the final version to be published; 4) agree to be accountable for the correctness and accuracy of all aspects of the work.

6) Committee on Publication Ethics. MSHSJ still is not a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), but we are committed to implementing the principles of it. We're trying to be a member in the future. but follows the guidelines of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), for information on this matter in publishing and ethical guidelines please visit COPE.
7) Scientific Misconducts
Fabrication: Fabrication is the intentional misrepresentation of research results by making up data, such as the one reported in a journal article. MSHSJ will ask the author(s) to provide the raw data for further investigations if necessary.
Falsification: It is manipulating research materials, equipment, or processes or changing or omitting data or results such that the research is not accurately represented in the research record. In the initial process of peer review, MSHSJ tries to consider this issue and act accordingly.
Plagiarism: The contents of the article should not be a copy of similar works. If authors use all or part of the published or unpublished materials or ideas of someone else, they must cite references properly or take permission in necessary cases.
The journal avoids accepting the articles with plagiarism  according to the existing standards. Any alleged offence is considered initially by MSHSJ using suitable software and in the case of proved plagiarism, the author(s) will be informed and the manuscript will be rejected. The authors can check the plagiarism of their abstracts in these websites Plagscan and Plagiarism Checker.
8) Conflict of interests: The author(s) should state all of the affiliations that may be considered as conflict of interests and report any financial and non-financial supports as well as the possible conflict of interests. Since conflict of interest is a part of the research ethics, it should be noted that journal will have the right to make any decision about the articles that do not mention the conflicts and will not be responsive to the authors and supporters’ conflicts and complaints on this subject.

9) Ethical guidelines: The ethical considerations and the way of observing the ethical standards should be mentioned in the methodology of article:

  • It should be stated that the informed consent and participation has been obtained from all participants or their legal custody in the case of not being able to submit the consent.
  • Compliance with the research, medical, and professional ethics should be considered in the article. The name of the institution where the research is ethically approved should be mentioned.
  • If necessary, approval of the ethical committee should be mentioned in the article content and also sent to the journal office.
  • Confidentiality practices of individuals or organizations' information should be explained.
  • Other cases should be explained according to circumstance.

10) Financial support: In the case of financial support for the research, it is necessary to mention the name of supporting organization or institute and the number of research project in the title page.
11) Complaints Procedures
We hope no complaints will be made. But if it happens, we will try to put it on the agenda immediately. The complainant must be aware that the subject cannot be investigated unless the corresponding author/ author and possibly the institution or company at which the research took place be informed about the complaint. The following procedures are followed:
 
How to Make a Complaint

  • The best way to contact us is by email. Complaints should clearly contain the topic, person, or event related to the MSHSJ.
  • Whenever possible, complaints will be processed by the relevant member of the Editorial Board. If that person cannot deal with the complaint, it will be referred to the Editorial Board of MSHSJ.
  • Complaints that are not under the control of the MSHSJ's Editorial Board will be sent to School of Public Health Research Ethic Committee. Finally, if complaints are not resolved in the School committee, it will be sent to Shahid Sadoughi University Research Ethics Committee.
  • If possible, a full response will be made within about four weeks. If this is not possible, an interim response will be given within four weeks.


Fees: This journal doesn’t receive any fees for publishing the articles. Loading and submission to the journal and as well as access to all published articles is free of charge.

Peer-review procedure:

The articles submitted to the journal office, in the case of title approval and consideration of the journal writing principles, will be sent confidentially (without-name) to two or three referees who are not members of the journal editorial board as far as possible. After receiving the referees’ comments and editorial board's approval, in the case of initial acceptance, the raised comments will be sent to the corresponding author for corrections. The author should act on the comments as soon as possible and return the article to the journal office. After controlling the demanded reforms, the article will be resent to the referees for confirmation. In the case of referees' final approval, the article will be accepted. The average time of articles revision to Final admission is 4 to 6 months.
