Background: It is important to obtain accurate information about the preferences of people for measuring quality-adjusted life years (QALYs), because it is necessary for cost-utility analysis. In this regard, mapping is a method to access this information. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to map Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy – General (FACT-G) onto Short Form Six Dimension (SF-6D) in breast cancer patients to provide appropriate conditions for a detailed cost-utility analysis.
Methods: This descriptive analytical study was conducted on 416 patients with breast cancer. The SF-6D and FACT-G questionnaires were completed for patients selected by consecutive sampling from the Imam Khomeini Cancer Institute in Tehran in 2018. The Ordinary Least Squares model was used to estimate the value of utility and the models' goodness of fit was evaluated using R2. In addition, models' predictive performance was assessed by Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), and Minimal Important Difference (MID) conducted between the observed and predicted SF-6D values. Models were validated using a 10-fold cross validation method.
Results: Given the criteria of goodness of fit, model 2 was the best (R2 = 41.19 %). Moreover, findings of the predictive performance of models showed that model 2 was the best (MAE = 0.06943, RMSE = 0.09031, and MID = 0.0003).
Conclusions: Findings showed that the developed algorithm had a good predictive ability. So, it can enable the policymakers and researchers to convert cancer-specific health-related quality of life instruments to preference-based instruments.

Background: Staff is the only sustainable competitive advantage of any organization; the success of the organization depends on the empowerment and health of the staff. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between psychological empowerment and health of librarians in state universities of Yazd.
Methods: This descriptive-analytic study was conducted among librarians working in libraries, research centers, and journal offices of Yazd Universities in 2016. The tools included psychological empowerment questionnaire (α = 0.95) and GHQ28 questionnaire of Goldberg and Hiller (α = 0.83). Data were analyzed by SPSS 20 using Pearson, Anova, and t-test.
Results: The results showed that the mean scores of psychological empowerment and health score for librarians were 19.73 ± 2.44 and 23.48 ± 11.20, respectively. In the correlational study of health empowerment, Pearson correlation coefficient (p > 0.05) was obtained. The relationship between empowerment and health scores was significant and inverse.
Conclusion: Managers and administrators of libraries in Yazd state universities should consider the psychological empowerment of librarians as one of the main strategies for improving their health. Health status of the librarians should be considered as an important factor required for health evolution.

Background: Equity in access to health care services is one of the main goals of health systems, so that inequality in the geographical distribution of health resources will make it difficult for individuals to access the health care facilities. This study aimed to determine the distribution status of hospital resources and inequality coefficient in the West Azarbaijan province before and after implementation of the health system reform plan.
Methods: This cross-sectional and descriptive-analytic study aimed to investigate inequality in the distribution of health resources in cities of West Azarbaijan province before and after health system reform plan using concentration ratio and Hall Tiedman indices. The required data for estimating these indices were the number of specialist physicians and hospital beds, which were extracted from the data base of treatment deputy in Urmia University of Medical Sciences. Data analysis was conducted by Excel software.
Results: The results indicated a high spatial concentration in distribution of the health resources in the province, so that fixed beds and specialist physicians were more concentrated in the capital city of province; Urmia. Moreover, inequality in distribution of the resources in cities of the province was highly related to population. Comparisons of the results before and after the health system reform plan showed that the distribution of fixed beds and specialist physicians had decreasing and increasing trends, respectively.
Conclusion: The results showed that inequality in distribution of the hospital beds was intensified after implementation of the health reform plan. Furthermore, distribution of specialist physicians after the reform plan, despite its improvement, was not according to the population distribution. Therefore, inappropriate distribution of the above-mentioned resources should be readjusted by adopting redistributive policies.

Background: The most prominent features of the current world include globalization of the economy, mass production, excess capacity for production lines of the factories and industries in most markets, intensive competition, massive information, and inefficiencies in communications. These all represent formation of the global markets for all national and regional companies, complexity of markets, and the dynamics of this competitive environment. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of organizational resources, organizational capabilities, and learning orientation on the marketing mix in hospitals of Yazd.
Methods: This was a descriptive research conducted in 2014. Leonidou et al.'s questionnaire was conducted to study the organizational resources and capabilities. In order to investigate the learning orientation variable, a questionnaire was adopted from a research by Yuan et al. (2013). Moreover, to study the marketing mix variable, the questionnaire from the study conducted by Yaghoobi et al. (2011) was adopted. The random sampling method was used and 313 eligible hospital staffs were selected. Data analysis was performed using SPSS18. The relationship between variables and factors were confirmed using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling techniques using Lisrel 8.72 software.
Results: The first hypothesis revealed a significant relationship between organizational resources and marketing mix, the second hypothesis confirmed a relationship between organizational capabilities and marketing mix, and the third hypothesis showed the effect of learning orientation on the marketing mix, which was confirmed by hypotheses 1 and 3.
Conclusion: Hospital managers should focus on the internal environment of the hospital and identify strengths of the hospital to select the most appropriate strategic options for allocating and distributing resources and capabilities. The potential of human resources, as institutional capital in the health care industry, should be strengthen and developed by managers.

Background: An increase in the aging population can affect economic growth and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by reducing labor supply, reducing productivity, and increasing burden on the population. The current study aimed to explain the economic effects of aging and examined the relationship between aging, health expenditure, and GDP.

Methods: This descriptive-analytical study was conducted using the data of global development indicators, published by World Bank for the selected countries from 1996 to 2017. The study population included 40 selected countries with moderate to high income. The data related to each country were extracted. Later, the dynamic panel data approach and generalized method of moments (GMM) were applied to analyze the information. Furthermore, the generalized method of moments regression was also used by Stata 14.
Results: The findings showed that aging had a negative and significant effect on GDP, so that increase of 1.00 % in the elderly population decreased the GDP growth by 2.14 %. Furthermore, countries' investment in the health sector had a positive and significant effect on the GDP. In this regard, an increase of 1.00 % in health and treatment costs improved the GPD by 0.03 %. Multiplication of aging in health expenditure and inflation index had a significant negative impact on the growth of GDP per capita.
Conclusion: The results of this study showed that population aging reduced GDP by absorbing a part of the health expenditure. Therefore, in order to reduce the negative effects of this phenomenon, a long-term approach to budgeting is required to strengthen and support the pension fund, plan more comprehensive health insurance coverage for the elderly, and develop related institutions.

Background: Health literacy was defined as the cognitive and social skills, which determine the motivation and ability of individuals to search, understand, and use the information, which maintain and promote their health. This study was aimed to assess patients’ health literacy and to examine its correlation with physician-patient interaction.
Methods: This analytical correlation cross-sectional study was conducted in Shiraz Shahid Faghihi hospital in 2019. A total of 200 patients were selected using the stratified-random method to participate in this study. The required data were collected using two valid questionnaires including Health Literacy for Iranian Adults (HELIA) and Interpersonal Processes of Care in Diverse Populations Questionnaire (IPC). Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 25. Descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation coefficient were applied in data analysis.
Results: Patients' health literacy and majority of its dimensions (with the exception of evaluation) were statistically correlated with physician-patient interaction among the studied population.
Conclusion: Effective interventions should be designed and implemented to promote health literacy both in general and patient populations. As a result, positive achievements can be created through improving the physician-patient interaction.

So, the aim of this study was to introduce a tool to facilitate this issue named "Treatment Chronicle".
Method: This descriptive and applied study was conducted in 2017. To investigate the health services utilization among the insured people and considering the information fragmentation in medical document system of Iran Health Insurance organization (IHIO), Treatment Chronicle was designed. Then, information was collected from medical document system of IHIO about patients' reference to physicians and paraclinics in various specialized levels in an 8-month period from the beginning of 2017. In this regard, 175 insured patients who used the health services very frequently were randomly selected and the Treatment Chronicle was drawn for them. Finally, some criteria were suggested for identifying the causes of over utilizing health services and a specific kind of service.
Results: Data in the IHIO were categorized according to patients' referral to physician, drug store, laboratory, and imaging center and were accessible in the form of tables and charts by entering the individual's national code number in the medical document system of IHIO. However, some problems existed for reviewing the health care utilization due to information fragmentation and lack of up-to-date information. Treatment Chronicle tool showed the referring information of each insured individual in a certain time period. It also represented the sequence, diversity, and combination of individuals' reference to physicians and utilization of paraclinical services.
Conclusion: Treatment Chronicle is a useful tool for insurance organizations to monitor individuals' health services seeking behavior. It can facilitate the interpretation and analysis of the healthcare use by illustrating the sequence and combination service utilization.

Background: Establishment of the intra-organizational collaboration network has become a critical strategy to provide high-quality services with a low cost in the health system. In order to utilize the benefits of collaborative networks, an appropriate governance model in accordance with the health system is required. To design a successful model of network governance, different effective factors should be considered. The aim of this research was to identify the internal behavioral factors that influence the design of a successful model of network governance in the health care system.
Methods: To select the related studies, the web of science, as a comprehensive and credible database was searched and 2350 scientific studies were resulted. The titles of these studies were compared with the inclusion and exclusion criteria and a number of 150 papers were selected. Next, the abstracts of these 150 papers were studied and finally, 53 articles were reviewed. In this research, a systematic literature review was conducted to explore and integrate the relevant knowledge on behavioral factors affecting the design of a governance model in health service networks.
Results: The review of selected studies according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria resulted in extraction of 59 evidences from 31 sources. No further evidences were extracted from other resources. In order to access these evidences easily and create a comprehensive view in the study area, the extracted evidences were categorized into three categories including characteristics of relationships, participation characteristics, and normative implications. These categories were further classified into15 sub-categories.
Conclusion: The network governance model will be successful in the case that effective behavioral factors be considered in its designing. The most important behavioral factors that should be considered in determining the network governance model include the relationships' characteristics, participation characteristics, and normative implications.
