Abstract

Background: Green Hospital's standards are an organized and coordinated effort to introduce environmental protection programs within an organization. The aim of this study was to evaluate standards of green hospital in affiliated hospitals of North Khorasan’s University of Medical Sciences.
Methods: This descriptive- analytical study evaluated the status of green hospital standards in 7 hospitals of North Khorasan’s University of Medical Sciences in 2016. Data were collected using 13 checklists investigating 8 variables of green hospital. Data were then analyzed using SPSS 16 software by descriptive statistics (distribution and percentage of frequency and mean score) and analytical statistics (t-test, Pearson correlation, and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test).
Results: The rate of observing green hospital standards was 67.41 %. The highest score in this regard was related to hospital B (74.08 %), while the lowest score was related to hospital C (53.27 %). The
water consumption management variable was the first priority for improvement by 52.12 %. There was a significant relationship among management, leadership, and the number of employees. A significant difference was also observed for the purchase variable between the teaching and non- teaching hospitals.
Conclusion: Implementation of green hospital's standards requires a comprehensive planning on 8 variables under study and transparency of guidelines and relevant legislation, personnel training, and ultimately documentation of the actions taken. In this regard, hospitals are suggested to use the checklists provided by Iran Green Management Association and the recommended methods in their internal assessment.

Abstract

Background: Maternal health program plays an important role in community health, so this study was conducted to analyze the strategic system of maternal health program evaluation for providing improvement strategies using internal-external environment assessment technique in Iran.
Methods: This qualitative study was conducted using the internal-external environment assessment technique. The required data were collected using a qualitative semi-structured questionnaire. The items included the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, and proposed strategies for improving the performance of the evaluation system. The study experts comprised of 40 health professionals with least 10 years of experience in the maternal health program. They were working in the field of population and family health in the health deputies of Iran medical sciences' universities. The provided points of views by the experts were categorized and reported based on the contents and the internal-external environment assessment matrix was used to develop the strategy.
Results: This study resulted in a comprehensive strategic analysis of the positive and negative points in the internal and external environment of maternal health program evaluation system. The proposed strategies by experts were categorized in 7 main domains under the topics of strengthening the monitoring and evaluation tools, enhancing the monitoring and evaluation process, reforming the clinical information system, establishing a national independent evaluation organization, strengthening the motivation of human resources, enhancing the internal and external coordination, and procuring of the sustainable financial and physical resources.
Conclusion: The results indicate that there are important internal weaknesses and external threats in this evaluation system, but they can be overcome by designing and implementing the appropriate promotion strategies.

Abstract
Background: The Comprehensive Child Development Center was established in 2012 in the center of Isfahan province to rapidly identify and intervene in the developmental problems of children. The aim of this study was to evaluate the implementation of this program.
Methods: This was a descriptive-analytical study conducted based on the framework for evaluating public health programs established by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of United States of America with regard to evaluation of infrastructure, process and outcome. The infrastructure’s checklist included an area of land, equipment, workforce and equipment completed with presence of researcher at the center. Process and outcome evaluation was performed for 127 registered children during 2019. A satisfaction questionnaire was completed in person or remotely by parents of 144 children referred to the center in 2019 and 2020. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and independent t-test, and one-way ANOVA was carried out through SPSS 16 software.
Results: The overall compliance of infrastructure with standards was 75.42%, with the highest compliance related to the equipment and the lowest related to the specialized workforce. The degree of compliance of the process compared with the standard one varied in different dimensions. 6.30 % of the children were cured and 76.38 % quit treatment. The most common reasons for treatment discontinuation were lack of appointment (29.53 %) and long distance (18.12 %). The overall satisfaction score was 83.90 ± 14.08. The satisfaction of the parents who completed the questionnaire in person was higher than those who completed the questionnaire remotely.
Conclusion: The results of this study revealed that the rate of complete cure is low and the rate of treatment discontinuation is high, whose main reasons were the lack of appointment to admit children with developmental disorders and long distance. It is suggested that, in order to solve the problem, the Ministry of Health establish more centers and provide the required workforce.

Abstract
Background: Locations, by creating a sense of comfort and peace or sorrow and distress have a great effect on self-confidence, personality, and personal health. Paying attention to the perceptual indicators of environmental quality can lead to sustainable changes in architectural designs. The aim of this study is to identify perceptual indicators of the environmental quality in medical centers and use these indicators to evaluate the physical-spatial qualities of those centers. The study environment was one the private hospitals in Yazd.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted in 2022 in a private hospital in Yazd. The statistical population includes patients, visitors, carers and staff. 73 users from the pediatric care and hospitalization ward and 47 users from the outpatient ward were selected as the statistical sample through convenience sampling. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire consisting of 27 questions with 5 Likert scale options and 5 demographic questions, the validity of which was approved by 10 experts in the field of architecture and psychology.  The reliability of the questionnaire was also confirmed by Cronbach's alpha test with a value of 0.75. Questions included 3 dimensions of perceptual indicators regarding the quality of hospital environment. 2 dimensions evaluated the physical aspects of the hospital exterior and interior space of the wards and 1 dimension evaluated social aspects. For statistical analysis, descriptive methods (frequency, mean, etc.) and SPSS 26 software were employed.
Results: The outcome of the percentages obtained regarding the dimension of physical-spatial aspects of the hospital's external spaces, pediatric care and hospitalization ward, the outpatient ward and the socio-functional aspects of hospital spaces, were obtained as + 25, + 38.38, + 44.73, and +36 % respectively.
Conclusion: Based on the results, the outcome of the percentages obtained for the dimensions of the physical-spatial aspects of the hospital's external spaces, pediatric care and hospitalization ward, the outpatient ward and the socio-functional aspects of hospital spaces indicated the favorable status of the dimension from the users' point of view.
